NFL Draft and NBA Playoffs

Our latest show is uploaded and ready to go!
Listen to Daniel and Justin discuss the Seahawks' performance in the NFL draft, the NBA playoffs, and the Seattle Mariners!

In the overtime podcast we talked about the NBA MVP award, more about the NBA playoffs, and anything else related to Lebron that Justin could think of! We also talked about why Justin stinks at Madden 2012, and why Daniel isn't even happy about it!

Perfection Achieved in Seattle!

Today Daniel and Justin discuss the climactic moment this weekend where the Mariners' offense finally reached rock bottom. It has to be uphill from here on out, right?
RIGHT?

GUYS???

With that angst out of the way our hosts moved on our newest segment, where Justin attempts to come up with an interesting question that Daniel can't answer! Today's question involved a surprising NBA statistic! (Daniel and Justin also provided us with an a cappella version of the Jeopardy think music! Don't miss it!)

Our new segment brought us neatly to our hosts' discussion of the NBA, including the latest irony brought to us courtesy of Metta World Peace, and then we finished the show off with the Local Sports Roundup!

In the overtime podcast, we discussed the NFL Draft and then move on to the Grays Harbor Bearcats' come from behind win over the Clark County Vipers on Saturday!

One Year Down!

359 days ago, Daniel and Andrew started recording our first show in Andrew's parent's basement, and now here we are, nearly a year later, recording our fifty-second show in the KXRO studio, graciously provided to us by the folks at Grays Harbor Radio! I think it's safe to say that the quality has improved dramatically!

Today we bring you a show devoted to an in depth analysis of the Seattle Mariners early season woes. Daniel and Justin discuss who is doing better than expected, who isn't coming through in the clutch, and who needs to be gotten rid of to clear the way for the development of younger players. We also bring you the latest local high-school sports news!

We started off the Overtime Podcast this week by talking about the Grays Harbor Bearcat's disappointing loss to the Portland Monarchs on Saturday. We discuss the Bearcat's strengths (Jeffrey Gates and the offensive line, the defensive front seven) as well as the areas that need improvement (Red Zone execution, turnovers, allowing big plays on defense) and Justin even provides Daniel with some friendly advice!

We then moved on to discuss the controversy over whether or not Olympic Basketball players should be payed to play, what $25,000 toilet paper would be made of, the latest disturbance surrounding Mark Cuban (including a reenactment of the conversation between Cuban and Lamar Odom) and the news that Terry Francona will not be attending the festivities surrounding the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park.

Congratulations Daniel!

Well here we are, one week away from a full year of The Scrimmage, and the Seattle Mariners look to have turned over a new leaf! (or are we just overreacting to the first few games of the season?) Daniel and Justin start off the show with some discussion of that question, then we moved on to a discussion of "Moneyball" and how it feels for a life long M's fan to be thrust into the position of rooting for the A's (it's kind of awkward.)
Next up was Daniel's chance to exult in his victory over Justin and the rest of The Scrimmage's NCAA Bracket Challenge! Justin is spending this week wearing a Duke hat, although it would be wise not to comment on this fact in front of him! After more College Basketball talk we discussed the recent developments surrounding the Saint's Bounty Scandal!

In our Overtime Podcast this week we began with a fun discussion of what sport provides the opportunity for the most exciting, climactic endings. From the walk off home run to the half court buzzer beater, we compare and contrast our favorite sports and their most pulse pounding winning moments.
Other topics covered include Dwight Howard's troubles in Orlando, Daniel gushing all over Lebron (or something like that), and lots of local sports including the Grays Harbor Bearcats' first game, last Saturday!

The 50th Scrimmage Show!

Well, here we are already at our 50th show, only two more shows and we will have amassed an entire year's worth of Sports Radio masterpieces!

Today we started off talking about the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game, and the awesome wager that Daniel and Justin have resting on it's outcome! We then moved on to some local sports news, (Daniel is getting depressed about the Mariner's season after only two games!) We rounded the episode off with NFL and NBA talk, and some discussion of what exactly qualifies one for the title of "sports nerd."

In the Overtime Podcast we started out with an awesome interview with Jadon Carossino, a great friend of the show and kicker for the Grays Harbor Bearcats, who is currently at a pro scouting camp in Las Vegas! We then continued our discussion of Sports Nerdery, as well as the news that Jamie Moyer is still starting after over twenty years of pitching, and Steve Nash could end up playing for the Miami Heat!
