Here Comes March Madness!

Good morning, Scrimmage Nation!

Today both our regular show and our Overtime Podcast are packed with excitement and comedic conflict!

First off, Daniel and Justin discussed the NBA MVP and whether or not Lebron James is deserving of the award. Our hosts are in general agreement on this issue, however, the conversation quickly deteriorated when Daniel started asking some pointed questions regarding the Heat's recent loss to the Utah Jazz, specifically questioning that final shot. You do not want to miss this heated exchange! It appears that Daniel has at last managed to crack the cool of the self styled "Voice of Reason," leaving the rest of us to wonder, should we really just "leave Lebron alone"?
We wrapped the regular show up with some discussion of the new, and still developing, story of NFL teams offering bounties to their defensive players for injuring opposing players. What does this mean for the future of the New Orleans Saints, and the National Football League?

The Overtime Podcast gets going with some talk about who we will see making it into the NCAA Tournament this year. Then we attempt to draw some conclusions from the Mariners first three preseason games, and announce our exciting Scrimmage Drawing! We finish up with some more discussion of the impending Bracket Battle and the late breaking news that Marshawn Linch has signed a 4 year deal with the Seahawks.

Hey, Monday!

We start out this morning with some argument over whether choosing Greg Oden over Kevin Durant was the smart pick for the Blazers to open the 2007 draft. We them move quickly on to a discussion of Jeremy Lin's performance against the Heat last week. Will Lin be able to achieve long term success in the NBA?
After our NBA talk it's time for Daniel and Justin to discuss the hot topic of the week, the successful appeal of Ryan Braun, overturning his suspension from Major League Baseball. Will this affect his legacy, or can he recover?
To finish out the regular part of our show we got a great overreaction from Daniel to Eric Wedge's decision to have Ichiro Suzuki bat third in the lineup this year.

The Overtime Podcast is great this week!
Not only do Daniel and Justin discuss possible new homes for Peyton Manning and what the Seahawks should be doing in the NFL draft, we also get to listen in as they negotiate the terms of their March Madness bracket wager!

Don't Get TOO Caught Up In Linsanity

Don't be scared away by the title of this blog. If you want to get caught up in unexpected story of Super Lintendo go right ahead. In fact, I think that we should celebrate these types of stories in sports. Just don't get so caught up in it that you miss what else is going on around the league.

The Knicks' seven game winning streak, along with the fact that it coincided with Lin's emergence, was impressive. The Knicks were also without their two best players (Carmello & Amare) for most of that run.

However, there are some teams out there that are playing just as well, or better.

Today's Show

We've got a show full of basketball talk today, as Daniel and Justin discuss the NBA's newest star, Jeremy Lin, and whether or not he should be compared to Tim Tebow, (something that many sports personalities have been doing this week), Daniel thinks he has a different NBA player who's story has a lot more similarities!
Our hosts then discuss the recent post-season action from our local highschool basketball teams. Can the Hoquiam boys recover from their first round loss against the Ridgeline Spudders and beat Tenino to keep their post-season hopes alive?

In today's Overtime Podcast, Daniel and Justin start out with an in depth discussion of the upcoming Seattle Mariners season. Make sure you listen in to hear their projected starting lineups, and what they foresee this year for our beloved M's!
Then we launch into a discussion of the NBA All-Star game and talk about what exactly qualifies a player as an "All-Star". Should it be a purely statistical honor or should it be a popularity contest?
